How REALTORS® Can Use QR Codes and Why They Should!!

QR codes are making a comeback in real estate marketing. These two-dimensional barcodes can be scanned by smartphones to quickly access information or websites. They're a great way to connect with potential buyers and sellers, and they can be used in a variety of ways.

Here are four ideas for how REALTORS® can use QR codes:

Idea #1: Use QR codes on For Sale signs

For Sale signs are a great way to get your listings in front of potential buyers. But how can you make sure that people actually see your signs? One way is to add a QR code. When a passerby scans the QR code, they'll be taken to a website with more information about the property. This could include photos, videos, and a virtual tour.

Idea #2: Use QR codes at open houses

Open houses are a great way to generate leads and show off your listings. But how can you make sure that people remember your open house? One way is to give them something to take with them. You could hand out flyers with QR codes on them. When people scan the QR codes, they'll be taken to a website with more information about your open house, including directions and a map.

Idea #3: Use QR codes on real estate postcards

Real estate postcards are a great way to stay top-of-mind with potential buyers and sellers. But how can you make sure that your postcards are actually getting opened? One way is to add a QR code. When people scan the QR codes, they'll be taken to a website with more information about you or your listings. This could include photos, videos, and blog posts.

Idea #4: Upload your QR code for your Unbranded property website as an image or photo with the rest of your photos.

While you should always upload your unbranded property website to MLS as a Virtual Tour Link, some of the more self serving real estate websites such as Zillow, Trulia and Redfin somewhat bury the Virtual Tour links in the details section of a listing. By using the QR code image as a photo then everyone viewing the images of your listing will automatically find a scannable link to your unbranded property website.
